Am Steinberg Hotel by Aretio & Kloos

Steinberg, translated “stone mountain”, is a little hotel located in Röthenbach an der Pegnitz (Germany). The name was the key to reach the right interior & corporate design concept, making the mountain silhouettes and crooked lines its main focus.

To make a link with nature, Aretio & Kloos chose materials such as wood, stone or natural fabrics for most of the design elements. As an example, the counter was built with different overlapped granite layers, simulating a solid rock, or the central lamp with different natural cotton layers to simulate the clouds.

The corporate design also had to include a simple but recognizable icon. A mountain silhouette that was applied to the whole corporate design, including stationary, signage and other decoration elements. To continue with their materials choice, they decided to use oak and laser engraving to make it look natural and simple.
