Burlesque star Dita Von Teese and tattoo artist Mark Mahoney (of Shamrock Social Club) lend their edgy styles to DITA Eyewear for its Fall 2013 “Legends” lookbook campaign.
“We wanted to this season’s imagery to capture modern day living legends, Mark Mahoney and Dita Von Teese,” said John Juniper, DITA co-founder and creative director. “We’ve always had an appreciation for the sensibilities of the 1960s, when icons like JFK, Steve McQueen, and Jackie O were synonymous with eyewear—what we consider to be the most important accessory. Jeff [Solorio, DITA co-founder] and I wanted to resurrect the integrity of this era by featuring two powerhouses, Mark Mahoney and Dita Von Teese, today’s quintessential gentleman and heroine.”
The new line of shades features six styles for men and six frames for women inspired by the late 1950s through early 1960s, all prices $350 to $750. And while this is technically the fall campaign, the handmade shades will begin hitting dita.com in July.
