Transformer apartment by Vlad Mishin

This 60 square meters apartment designed by Vlad Mishin is divided lengthwise by a sculptural structure, which also defines the borders of space. It consists of several transforming blocks, made from black metal framework and plywood. The shape of the sharp bends is not random, it was specified by the technical characteristics of the blocks. The various placement options of the transforming elements define the function and purpose of the rooms.

The main part of the transforming blocks creates the space of a common room. There are three rotating blocks, the main one has a tv-panel. The block rotates on its axis and it makes possible to look at the tv from different places: the bedroom, kitchen and common room. Two other blocks are folding and auxiliary, they also serve as an opening to the bedroom.

The kitchen equipment is hidden in a niche behind a hinged partition wall, which slides apart. The refrigerator is also hidden in a separate niche. The bathroom door finishes the wall.
