A full residence renovation in a former propeller pattern factory

Fogarty Finger was engaged for the full renovation of this single-family residence in Jersey City, NJ, formerly a propeller pattern factory built in the 1800s. The historic building shell was preserved and a second floor was added, intentionally set back from the front facade and clad in zinc to project a minimal intervention from the exterior view. The main living space features the preservation of original wood joists and columns, concrete floors, and machinery from the building’s industrial past, and incorporates a rich palette of natural wood and stone.
