The view of the midtown skyline from a hazy NYU high-rise dorm sets the backdrop for the formation of Ch!nch!lla. Combining electronica, funk, reggae, dance, rock and hip-hop, the trio delivers a high-energy, DJ inspired sound with heavy emphasis on melodic improvisation and experimentation.
Production guru Zachariah Goldschmiedt takes cues from artists like Ratatat, Flying Lotus, and LCD Soundsystem, while bassist Liam Mellor lays down deep pocket Jam-influenced bass bombs. Guitarist Adam November rounds out the band, drawing from a wide sonic palette influenced by John Scofield, Hendrix, and John Butler. The band just released their second EP on Half Green Records, “Providence” and are following up with extensive Fall plans, including new videos and an East Coast run.
