London, Barcelona, Vienna, Rotterdam, Kazan are just some of the cities that pride themselves with exceptional architects and buildings that pay homage to the places where they were built. This year, on April 7-8, in Bucharest, within GIS International Interior Architecture, Design, Furniture & Lighting Expo Conference, five finalists projects of 2013 will be presented.
Carrer Avinyó apartment in the Gothic Quarter, Barcelona, Spain. The project was designed by David Kohn Architects and has won the “World Interior of the Year” at the Inside Festival in Singapore. The attraction of the appartment are the mosaic floor tiles made of triangular plates, which gradually changes color from green to red, from one end to the other of the apartment.
Rolling Stones in Vienna, Austria. The project is designed by INNOCAD and has won the LEAF Interior Design Awards 2013 at public building of the year & overall winner categories. The project is a new information center for Graz Tourismus, Austria. The architects made use of Murnockerl stone in the redevelopment of the building which created an outstanding design. The stones are special because they are brought by the river and rounded by the power of the water.
The Plum & Spilt Milk Restaurant at the Great Northern Hotel in London, England. The project won the European Hotel Design Awards 2013 at the Interior Design of the Year – Restaurant category. The superb restaurant, of a modern classicism, was designed by Archer Humphryes Architects.
Office IMd Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The project was finalist at the LEAF interior design awards in 2013, at the Refurbishment of the Year category. It is carried out by the Dutch architect Joost Ector and his team. The office, designed as headquarters for IMd engineering company is a former steel plant of 2014 square meters, from Rotterdam.
The Palace of Water Sports, Kazan, Russia. It is designed by Nps Tchoban Voss architects and has won the Interior Design Best of Year 2013 at the category Beauty / Spa / Fitness. It was designed on the territory of Universiade Park and included in the complex of sport constructions being built in Kazan city as part of the preparation for holding the Summer Universiade in 2013.
GIS International Interior Architecture, Design and Lighting Expo Conference is part of the series of international architecture and entrepreneurship expo conferences organized by Abplus Events, alongside INGLASS, LAUD, RIFF and CONTRACTOR.
