Villa Boréale is a clean lines, Scandinavian inspired modern barn

Villa Boréale is a charming residence designed by CARGO Architecture located in the Charlevoix region of Quebec. The project is designed with a single global vision: a modern, Scandinavian inspired barn with clean lines. The materials in their raw appearance influenced the general concept, as well as pale colors and natural textures such as wood, concrete and white. The black metal creates an impressive contrast that highlights the smooth matte finish and steel and the natural grain of Eastern white cedar. Moreover, as the entrance to the site is not above the level of the ground floor, the choice of installing the same black metal coating on the roof has become imperative to provide a strong signage at first glance. Throughout the design, the site quickly became a powerful element of the project. Carefully choosing the location and size of each window, external views were highlighted and the atmosphere created by natural light becomes pleasant throughout the day.
